Description	"The procedure established for the orderly development of plans for the Cuyahoga County Freeway System contemplated that such planning would be accomplished in three steps: (a.) The preparation of a "Corridor Report" establishing the locations of the several freeways within relatively narrow bands or corridors -- perhaps 1,000 feet wide. (b.) The preparation of an Engineering Design Report for each freeway, establishing the alignment, grade and typical cross section of the freeway, locations of access ramps, design of interchanges, etc., the intention being to resolve all major design questions prior to the starting of detailed construction plans. (c.) The preparation of Construction Plans and Specifications. In fulfillment of Step "a" we present herewith our Corridor Report describing the general routing recommended for those freeways in the Cuyahoga County Freeway System which have been designated for inclusion in the National System of Interstate and Defense Highways. Since there is a definite possibility that the Interstate System within the County may be expanded or otherwise altered, we have included also in this report the selection of corridors for several alternate or additional routes. Thus it is believed that approximate locations or corridors have been selected for all freeways which might ultimately be included to the Interstate System. Excellent basic data has been available for this study, including the very complete 1952 origin-destination traffic survey and large scale U.S.G.S. and C.R.G.S. topographic mapping of the County. New aerial photographic coverage was obtained for all areas where a freeway routing appeared at all feasible" -- letter to Mr. Porter, Cuyahoga County Engineer, in front matter of report.
