This collection includes black-and-white photographs taken by William Ashbolt, a Plain Dealer photographer. Topics of the photographs include the investigation and trial of the Sam Sheppard for the murder of Marilyn Sheppard from July 1954 to December 1954. The collection also includes photographs of Robert Manry's Tinkerbelle sailboat voyage across the Atlantic Ocean in 1965 and the following celebration in England. Tinkerbelle was the smallest sailboat to cross the Atlantic Ocean. This collection is a small digital sampling of a much larger archival collection housed in Special Collections at the Michael Schwartz Library at Cleveland State University.
