Description |
"What's happening in Cleveland's Mid-East section is illustrated by three houses in a row on the north side of Quimby Ave. House at left, 6311 Quimby, was acquired by Ben Frankel, also a big Central Area owner, in October. It is rented for $135 a month to a Negro family which subrents a room for $12.50 a week to help pay the bill. Next house, 6401-03, also was bought by Frankel in October. A white family on the left is a long-time tenant of the duplex and pays $60 a month, expects to move soon. On the right side, a new tenant, a Negro family, pays $90 a month. The two houses, producing $3420 a year income, cost Frankel $17,000. Third house in row, 6405 Quimby, is being purchased by Negro family on land contract from Gull Realty Co. with payment of $120 a month. It sold in 1951 for $7000" -- photo verso. |
