Accomplishments	Edris Eckhardt won a Guggenheim fellowship because she rediscovered the Egyptian technique for making gold glass which was lost for 1500 years. She invented new processes for glass, bronze, and other types of media. Her work was so valued that she created art for Eleanor Roosevelt, Congress, and the British Monarchy. Eckhardt won a second Guggenheim award in ceramics, making her the first Ohioan to do so twice.
