TitleResidents of Lang cottage at the Berea Children's Home, Berea Ohio
DescriptionBruce Higham was a resident of the Berea Children's Home from spring 1937 until spring 1944. "The house mother was Miss Jane. We had several assistants come and go over this period. I was there the longest. When I arrived, everyone already there were gone before me. My older sister, Betty, and older brother, Ray, also came lived there at the same time. Betty stayed as the older girls cottage and wasn't there long being placed after about 2 years. Ray stayed at the "Big House" with the few older boys and was placed after about 3 years. By 1944 Betty had married a local farmer and they agreed to take me to live and work on the farm with them. Then I really became a "contented young man." -- Bruce Higham.
