The stream that ran through Lakewood Park flowed through Lakewood where Belle Ave. is today. After the street covered up the stream it continued to flow into the open at a point where the road separated near the park entrance on Lake Ave. The stream was covered over, but the stone wall over the former opening still stands at the park entrance.
