DescriptionThe Ohio Common Schools Act, 1867, allotted three school to the East Rockport area. East School, No. 10, was built on Detroit Ave. on the present site of Garfield Elementary School. Originally a one-room brick building it was partitioned into two rooms in 1891 and was replaced by a four-room brick colonial designed by James Christford in 1893.
