DescriptionThe Plank Road Company toll gate at the northeast corner of Detroit St. and Warren Rd. Made from logs flatten on top and bottom with earth packed in between and along the outside edge, the road ran through Lakewood west from Highland Ave. (West 117th St.) into Rocky River. The toll house operated until 22 August 1901 when Detroit became a free street.
