A cleaning crew swept the steets after the United Freedom Movement (UFM) school desegregation demonstrations on April 6th and 7th, 1964. The UFM protested at the Lakeview construction site in response to the school board's plans to build three elementary schools to relieve overcrowding of black students at the Hazeldell School.
