Forty different kinds of herbs in this garden were used to make foods taste more tempting, for medicinal purposes or to be tucked among clothing to create an illusion of freshness. Best time for viewing the garden is in the summer, June, July, August, September. It is maintained by the Lakewood Historical Society." -- card verso.
