DescriptionThe center of memorial hall is dominated by a statue of Garfield. It depicts him as he rose to speak in Congress. The sculpture is by Alexader Doyle, who obtained the marble from the quarries near Carrara, Italy. The chair is an exact copy of Garfield's own chair while he was a legislator. This was cut from the same block as the figure. Ten stained glass windows furnish the light for Memorial Hall. Four window-like panels and 10 actual windows represent the original 13 states and and Ohio as the President's state. Two windows are shown in the photo.
