CreatorSeid, Herman
Description"Bringing in the crop--It's harvest time again for pupils of Benjamin Franklin Elementary School at 1905 Spring Rd. Every April, under the direction of horticulture teacher Frank Kukowitch, 1000 pupils seed a garden. By June, some of the crop--such as lettuce and radishes--are ready for picking. During the summer, 425 of these pupils (fourth, fifth and sixth graders) maintain the gardens and harvest tomatoes, corn and beets in the fall. Kukowitch, proudly points out that this is the 40th year for this school project"--Cleveland Press photo caption.
