| Description | View of the deck, sidewalks, and railings of the 46th Street Bridge in Ashtabula, Ohio in 1981, looking westward towards downtown. There is a road closed sign blocking passage of the bridge. It was closed to traffic in 1981 and converted to a pedestrian bridge. This bridge, built in 1895, is a light weight steel truss bridge with an overall length of 920 feet, approximately 100 feet off the valley floor. The thin profile of the deck and slimness of its legs and truss members gives the bridge a delicate appearance. It is crosses the Ashtabula River on Spring Street in Ashtabula, Ohio. |
