DescriptionView looking northeast, showing the deck of the bridge and the stone masonry detail. The Superior Avenue Viaduct was the first high-level bridge to connect Cleveland, Ohio's East and West Sides over the Cuyahoga River Valley. The viaduct was a combination iron and masonry structure, 3,211 feet long, with a swing span over the river. All but eight stones arches and the viaduct's west abutment still stand.
