DescriptionThis is a view to the south, including Kingsbury Run, west of East 55th Street. The Nickel Plate tracks in the foreground appear curved due to the panoramic effect. On the far left is the bridge crossing East 55th Street and left of center is the bridge crossing Praha Avenue. The houses on the right are on East 51st Street. A lumberyard can be seen on the left. Kingsbury Run provided the right of way for the rapid transit line to downtown Cleveland from Shaker Heights. As part of the Van Sweringen negotiations with New York Central Railroad, half the right of way was designated for rapid transit and half for the NYC's Short Line to the Orange Avenue Freight Terminal. This photograph was taken using a Cirkut Camera No. 10.
