| Description | Traffic problem is created by cars stopping at roadside stands in Westlake. Council is considering an ordinance to require off-street parking facilities. This stand at Center Ridge and Walter Roads is one of about 20 in the area. A public hearing will be held November 12 on an ordinance requiring Westlake fruit and vegetable stands to provide off-street parking facilities. Another section of the proposed legislation will ban parking on Center Ridge, Detroit, and Columbia Roads. "The same ordinance is included in the new traffic code now in the process of revision" Councilman Edward O'Rourke said. "But we felt that it was needed now. These stands are creating a serious traffic problem" O'Rourke said. "We have had several accidents, but fortunately no one has been killed." In other action by Council, license fees for bicycles were increased to a dollar because the previous 25 cent fee "did not even pay costs of handling." Council gave final approval to a proposed $100,000 building on Detroit Road, east of Columbia Road.
