DescriptionOn May 27, 1958 Hilliard Elementary School in Westlake was the first community in the county to conclude its school year. The suburb's 1832 school children got a big jump on Cleveland youngsters, who weren't out until June 13. In the fall of 1958 they started school three days after Labor Day, but the following June they went to school two weeks longer.
