Westlake (Ohio)
DescriptionThe city's first municipal facility was scheduled to open in 1967 in Clague Park through the efforts of Westlake Swimming Pool, Inc., a group of citizens promoting the pool. The three largest single contributors in the drive for funds, Thomas C. Hurd of Dutcher-Hurd Realty Co. (left), and William Reid of Pacer Construction Co., and Don Brown of Donn Products, gave checks totaling $5100 to Planning Commission Chairman Bernard (Dusty) Miller, a member of the group. The citizens realized $102,600 toward their goal of $140,000 for the pool.
