AccomplishmentsMrs. Helen Horvath was a renowned social activist who was determined to assist immigrants in the difficult and many times painful adjustment to life in America. In 1901 Horvath opened a school for new Hungarian Americans to learn English and the the American lifestyle. She encouraged newcomers to take advantage of America's opportunities while still remembering their Hungarian heritage.
