| Accomplishments | Along with husband, Rowena Jelliffe was a co-founder of Karamu House, a neighborhood settlement renowned for its dedication to interracial theater and arts. A former social worker, Jellifffe directed over 100 plays for Karamu House and also wrote plays for children. She was a strong civil rights advocate. Jelliffe was an Ohioana Pegasus Winner and also was honored with a Cleveland Arts Prize in 1963. |
